What is Delta Upsilon?
Delta Upsilon, an international men's fraternity founded in 1834, is committed to Building Better Men through our four founding principles: Promotion of Friendship, Development of Character, Diffusion of Liberal Culture, & the Advancement of Justice, that challenge our brothers to expect nothing less than excellence from themselves and others.
There are no secrets with Delta Upsilon. No secret rituals. No secret oaths. No hazing. Delta Upsilon is proud to be the world's only international fraternity committed to sharing our ideals, symbols, and rituals openly.
About the Florida Chapter
The beginnings of a Delta Upsilon chapter come with colonization, when a few dedicated men pledge themselves to the pursuit of values bigger than themselves. Our founding fathers did just that in 1956, and by December 7, 1957 we had met and exceeded all of the expectations that the international fraternity had for them. On that day an assembly of brothers and honored guests met for the installation of the Florida chapter. “We are honored that this University was selected for the establishment of a Delta Upsilon chapter.” declared Dr. J Wayne Reitz, president of UF, during his address to the assembly. That night, twenty-one men were presented the charter of the 76th chapter of Delta Upsilon.
We currently reside in the fourteen room mansion located at 1814 W. University Ave., located right across the street from the stadium. We are steps from midtown and perfectly situated off campus but close enough to get to class at a stroll.
Joining Delta Upsilon is a lifelong experience with a brotherhood that's second-to-none. Our brothers have lived their college experience to the fullest by becoming leaders on campus, staying involved with the community, taking part in intramural sports, participating in social events, maintaining excellent grades and brotherhood events every week! Delta Upsilon offers all this, while still maintaining the highest new member GPA of a 3.71 among all fraternities at UF, and also the highest Fraternity GPA of a 3.55.

Delta Upsilon is a unique opportunity to network that can benefit you for the rest of your life. Also with our brotherhood, you share a lifetime bond with other elite men. Your experiences in college will affect you for years to come. We hold alumni events every semester; often alumni also present the chapter with great job/internship opportunities. Since the Delta Upsilon Fraternity has been established at the University of Florida since 1957 there are many alumni who can offer great opportunities in order to get ahead in life.
